Description

Reviews the foundation in pollution prevention concepts and methods. Specific topics covered are improved manufacturing operations, life-cycle assessment, design considerations, economics, sustainability issues, fugitive emissions, and material and resource conservation.

Objectives

1. Discuss the development of pollution prevention technologies.
2. Identify key pollution problems.
3. Assess pollution prevention methods at local, national, and global levels.
4. Explain how political and societal concerns impact pollution and pollution prevention.
5. Evaluate laws, standards, and best practices related to pollution prevention.
6. Apply leadership and management techniques to resolve pollution prevention issues in the business/industrial environment.
7. Discuss how various human populations are impacted by pollution.
8. Describe the ecological impact of pollution.
