Provides an overview of research design that consists of understanding the preliminary considerations that go into selecting a qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods research design, which includes philosophical worldviews, use of literature and theory, ethical issues, and writing strategies. The processes related to each approach, which includes writing an introduction, specifying a purpose statement, and developing research questions and/or hypotheses as well as the general procedures for quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods studies are presented.
