Objectives

  1. Explain the development of occupational safety and health in America.
  2. Apply occupational safety and health theory, technologies, and best practices.
  3. Evaluate laws, standards, and best practices related to occupational safety and health.
  4. Assess leadership and management principles related to occupational safety and health.
  5. Evaluate common workplace hazards.
  6. Formulate hazard abatement strategies for common workplace hazards.
  7. Formulate effective safety and health management initiatives and strategies that mitigate occupational injuries and illnesses.
  8. Examine effective means of communicating safety and health issues in the workplace.
