Description

Analyzes the fire service operations within emergency management (EM). Students examine the role that the fire service has within the EM field and how senior emergency management officials manage the operational component of a rescue department during an emergency.
 

Outcomes

  1. Analyze the Multi-Agency Coordination Systems (MACS) that are employed during an emergency.
  2. Assess the legal mandates required while working in the fire and emergency management fields.
  3. Explain the Integrated Emergency Management System (IEMS).
  4. Discuss the interorganizational component to the field of emergency management.
  5. Design incident documentation.
  6. Evaluate the media and political considerations that are required within the fire service and emergency management.
