  2. Describe the role and implementation of surveillance systems in public health programming.
  3. Examine key surveys and key data sets that are currently available for research in public health.

  5. Calculate and interpret measures of disease frequency and measures of effect in public health.
  6. Assess and interpret adjusted rates using direct standardization to control for confounding in public health.
