Description

Incorporates key elements of system design for emergency medical services (EMS) to facilitate preparation of a program proposal. Students discuss how various components of program development contribute to an eventual success of their proposals. Students incorporate academic and professional research into a final proposal that synthesizes program outcomes and may be used for future contributions or implementation in EMS.

Outcomes

  1. Identify an EMS-related program for construction of a proposal that could be submitted to administrators or in response to a request for proposal (RFP).
  2. Identify and incorporate EMS-related research in a program proposal.
  3. Identify and incorporate financial costs and potential funding sources for the proposal.
  4. Identify specific policies, procedures, or protocols that are needed to implement the program.
  5. Research potential legal or regulatory issues that must be addressed for program implementation.
  6. Describe the type of risk associated with the program.
  7. Describe training or education needs for implementation of the program.
  8. Identify community partners and stakeholders that are needed for program success.
  9. Develop an EMS-related program proposal.
