Description

Examines the history and scope of healthcare quality movement efforts in the United States. Methods of assessing quality and techniques for process improvement are addressed as well as opportunities for preventing adverse events. Quality improvement tools such as Lean Six Sigma, constraints theory, and other key approaches are reviewed with an emphasis on developing, executing, and reporting the outcomes of quality improvement initiatives in health care.
