Analyzes threats to critical infrastructure from an “all-hazards” perspective and examines the full range of natural, technological, and man-made disasters and their impact on our nation’s critical infrastructure. Students develop risk and threat assessments, safety plans, and strategies for critical infrastructure protection. Finally, students identify the processes for implementing training, education, exercises, and evaluations to ensure infrastructure security.

  1. Explain general concepts of Critical Infrastructure protection.
  2. Analyze threats to critical facility and network infrastructure from an “all-hazards” perspective.
  3. Examine how incidents, events, and disasters impact critical infrastructure.
  4. Develop strategies for critical infrastructure protection.
  5. Construct a process for implementing critical infrastructure training, education, exercises, and evaluations.
  6. Discuss how information can be communicated to build public and private relationships for infrastructure protection.
  7. Assess challenges associated with establishing a trusted network of partners across infrastructure sectors.
  8. Create a resiliency plan to respond to changes to the threat environment for critical infrastructure.
