Application fees and tuition fees are non-refundable. Students should review the financial terms before submitting an application or making payment.
Self-Paced Online Education
THE AMERICAN UNIVERSITY OF HIGHER EDUCATION provides a self-paced online educational model designed to give students flexibility in how they pursue their academic development.
THE A.U. does not operate on the basis of selling individual courses for purchase and refund. Students enroll in educational pathways and receive access to the applicable academic and university services associated with their enrollment. Examination opportunities may be reserved according to the applicable academic requirements and procedures.
Because educational access, administrative processing and academic services are provided as part of the enrollment process, application fees and tuition fees are non-refundable.
Application & Tuition Fees
Application Fees
All application fees paid to THE A.U. are non-refundable. Once an application has been submitted and the applicable application fee has been paid, the fee is not returned if the applicant changes their plans, does not continue enrollment, or is otherwise unable to proceed.
Tuition Fees
Tuition fees paid to THE A.U. are non-refundable. Tuition relates to the student’s educational enrollment and access to the applicable academic and university services rather than the purchase of an individual course.
We Do Not Sell Individual Courses
Self-Paced Learning
Students may progress through their educational pathway in a flexible, self-paced online environment. The model is designed around educational development rather than the purchase of individual courses as standalone products.
Academic Examination
Where applicable, students may reserve examinations in accordance with the requirements and procedures of their academic pathway. Examination reservation is an academic service and does not convert tuition or application fees into refundable course purchases.
Withdrawal From an Educational Pathway
Students May Discontinue
Students may choose to discontinue their educational participation. Students should communicate with THE A.U. when they decide not to continue so that the university can provide appropriate administrative guidance.
No Tuition Refund
Discontinuing participation, changing educational plans or choosing not to continue does not create an entitlement to a refund of tuition fees already paid.
Application Fees Remain Non-Refundable
Application fees remain non-refundable regardless of whether an applicant ultimately continues into an educational pathway.
Academic Examination Services
Reservation of Examinations
Students enrolled in applicable educational pathways may reserve examinations according to the academic requirements and procedures established by THE A.U.
Examination reservations are part of the university’s academic process and should be made in accordance with the instructions provided to the student.
